History
Genesis Capital was first established in 2006 by a small group of investors seeking opportunities to control private enterprises and realize equity returns well beyond those typically available in public market investments.
The Genesis model is straightforward: we employ leveraged buy-outs utilizing third-party bank debt, investors personal equity, and typically some form of vendor financing such as notes or earnouts. It is important to the partner group that the equity funding is self-generated and does not involve third-party or institutional funding. Deal focus is industry agnostic, but generally focused on traditional economy businesses that generate positive cash flow and are suitable for LBO's.
Once companies are acquired, Genesis provides oversight and guidance to management, forms strategic plans, and becomes involved in monitoring the business on behalf stakeholders. In addition, Genesis will form the Board of Directors and maintain the primary relationship with the company’s lenders. In return for providing this strategic leadership and oversight, Genesis Capital commands a management fee to cover the operating expenses of their operations.
