In 2009, Genesis Capital acquired Fritz Construction Services from its founder, Tom Fritz, and his management team. With a long track record of profitability and the ability to service multiple markets within the construction industry as market conditions changed, Genesis recognized the opportunity to purchase a flexible company that could perform above its weight class. In late 2009, with the passing of the Green Energy Act, the market focused quickly on Solar PV construction under the feed-in-tariff program. Fritz became a significant player in the Ontario solar market and installed over 33MW of solar generating capacity between 2010-2019. With the winding down of provincial support of green energy, Fritz refocused its business to its core competencies of precast concrete manufacturing. In 2019, Fritz signed a strategic supply agreement with Alder Concrete Group and rebranded the joint market offering as Fritz-Alder Precast to leverage the deeper product and service offering. Since then, Fritz-Alder has firmly established itself as a major supplier of hollow-core precast and vertical wall panels within the Ontario market and has successfully won numerous multi-million-dollar total precast projects in its key markets.

Following the success of launching GSELP, Genesis Capital was able to consolidate hundreds of non-constructed MicroFIT projects and develop a series of 10-acre solar farms in locations across Ontario.
